ASVAB Practice Test Marines

When it comes to the US Armed forces, the name of the Marines always comes up. Marines are one of the elite forces always ready to fight for the nation anywhere, anytime against any possible threat. Their job is to protect the US Naval Ships, the military bases, the embassies and also fight the threats within or outside the boundaries of the US. Joining the forces and getting an opportunity to serve as a part of the marines is a dream of many aspirants.

Just like the other branches of the US armed forces, one should take an ASVAB Test conducted by the Defense Department. It is a test conducted to ensure that an individual aspirant has all the skills required to be a Marine. It is a moment of immense pride and respect to put on the uniform and serve the nation. And ASVAB is the exam that all candidates should clear to join as a Marine.

Eligibility

  • To join the Marines, one must fall under all the eligibility criteria provided. The minimum criterion that every candidate must fulfill to join the navy is to get at least an AFQT of 32.
  • To join the marines, one must be at least 17 years of age and not more than 29.
  • To serve as in the marines, one should be a citizen of the U.S. If the candidate is not a U.S citizen, he must hold a green card or a permanent resident visa and must have a home of record in the U.S. But to be an officer, one must be a citizen of the U.S.
  • Marines have a strict zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and alcohol.
  • One must have a high school diploma or any other high school equivalent degree.
  • Must meet all physical and mental standards.

ASVAB practice test marines, just like the ASVAB comprises of two major sections namely AFQT and Extra Sections which are further divided into more sections.

AFQT Sections

  • Arithmetic Reasoning
  • Mathematics Knowledge
  • Word Knowledge
  • Paragraph Comprehension

Extra Sections

  • General Science
  • Auto and Shop Information
  • Mechanical Comprehension
  • Electronics Information

The candidates are also divided into categories based on their AFQT scores and the passing criteria for the various branches are different. They are:

  • The air force has passing marks of 36.
  • Army has passing marks of 31.
  • For Coast Guard, passing marks is 40.
  • To join the Marines, the criteria mark is 32.
  • To become a National Guard, the minimum mark is 31.
  • To join the navy, one should get a minimum of 35.
