Selection Instrument for Flight Training (SIFT) is an assessment for applicants who wish to pursue an Army Aviation career. SIFT scores range between 20 and 80, a passing score is 40. If you score 40 or higher you have completed the first step in qualifying for aviation service and are no longer authorized to retake the SIFT. If you score below a 40 you have one more opportunity to take the test again after 45 days. 50 is the average score. You are allowed to take the SIFT test a maximum of two times in your entire lifetime.
